Law of the Lands
Site Rules
I. Do NOT edit your mini-profile at all until after your Audition has been Accepted. (Name, Pics etc.)
II. Please make sure to read the Plot and Character List before you audition for a character.
III. There is no gender rule on this forum. You may audition for a character regardless of their/your gender.
IV. You must role play in third person in Para and/or Multipara, using quotes whenever speaking.
V. No one-liners. We expect posts to be at least 250 words. Go into detail, make it seem realistic.
VI. If you're interested in auditioning for an Original Character, make sure you read our Original Character Rules as well as our List of Face-Claims.
VII. We are an intermediate/advanced role play forum. If you are told to include more detail in your post, or if we ask you to audition for another character because we feel that you aren't portraying your current character correctly, please do not take offense as it is not meant that way. We simply want our members here to all have a wonderful experience, and that includes being able to portray characters correctly. Original Characters are obviously given much more free reign.
VIII. Make sure you stay IN CHARACTER. Yes, this is an AU role play forum, but if you have a canon character, you must act according to how they would act in a situation. Put what they need and/or would want above your own desires. For example: I may want Sansa to be an assassin. I may want her to be a complete badass like a certain other person in her family, but that's just not who she is. Sansa isn't a fighter, and since I'm playing her character, I'll just have to accept that. The most I can hope for is for her to become manipulative due to her situation, but even that would be after a long period of time. This is important, so keep this in mind before auditioning for a character, please. If you have questions about this, contact Sansa Stark .
I. You must be active. New members will be given a 2 week trial to make sure they're active.
II.New members are given 5 days to send in an audition or reserve a character before being deleted.
III. Members who have been accepted are given a warning if inactive for more than 2 weeks, and then deleted if inactive after 17 days.
IV. By 'active' we don't mean just logging on. You must post. At least once every 2 weeks.
V. We understand that things happen OOC that sometimes prevent you from being online. However if this happens, make sure you post a thread in the 'Away' board letting us know how long you will be Away from the forum so that we know you intend to come back.
VI. We generally will be more lax on this than before (if you were here before the reboot), however we will still be doing monthly activity checks.
I. Members may play a total of FIVE characters on this forum. Three of those characters may be major canons, one perhaps a minor canon but if so, the last one must be an Original Character. Staff may play a total of SIX characters, four of which can be major canons. Staff does include Advertisers but only if the Advertiser(s) are active in their position. Meaning that they advertise at least twice per week and actively keep up with the Link Backs.
II. You may audition for a second character at any time, there is no post count for this. HOWEVER, if you want a third character, you need a collective total of 50 posts between your first and second characters. For a fourth you need 100, and for a fifth you need 150.
III. If you play multiple characters, you must be active on all accounts. Again, this means actually role playing, and not just logging in.
IV. If you are inactive on an account, without posting an Away, then you will be warned to be more active, and after that if it continues you will be politely asked to choose which character you wish to keep, and the other will be deleted.
V. We are currently accepting both Original and Canon Characters.
VI. If you audition for a Canon character then make sure you are able to role play in the way that you would expect that character to act. Canon characters are important to the storyline & most of them play large roles so make sure that you can handle it.
VII. If you're interested in auditioning for an Original Character, then I will say it once more - you must read our Original Character Rules as well as making sure the FC is available by reading our List of Face-Claims.
VIII. You are not allowed to use non-human faceclaims. This includes but isn't limited to things such as fanart, drawings, animated game characters etc.
Although we have a few characters that were brought back to life on this forum - we generally won't be accepting more unless there's a good reason. If a character dies on this forum - they stay dead. Keep this in mind, as I'm certain that members would not appreciate you killing their character without them agreeing to it. I know, I know - this is a Game of Thrones Role Play, characters die all the time, right? That's true, but I would also like to keep things a bit more realistic while still fun on this forum. Characters may die, but only if you have discussed the death with the other member and have reached an agreement. The secret code is -Hodor-. If you no longer want to play a character, they may be killed off. However if it is a canon character then you MUST discuss it with the Site Owner (Me). As this is Game of Thrones Role Play, I encourage situations to arise where characters are near death, but ended in a way as to where it's possible for them to escape/receive help. An example of this could be that a King or Lord is about to execute someone, and the crowd starts a riot of some sort - allowing the character to escape. Or situations may occur where the fate of the person is unknown. This isn't impossible in the series either, like the certain character involved in the Gravedigger Theory. Also, you may not audition for a character that has died before our plot began. There may be an exception to this if the character died in the show but is still alive in the books, although no promises. It depends on which character. If you have questions concerning this, contact myself or another Staff Member.
