-I'd like for the creator of the Wanted Ad thread, Lyanna Mormont, to confirm that this audition is accepted. So that we may change anything that might not suit the character she envisioned. I haven't read all the books or finished all the seasons. I'm on book 5, but I did watch the highlights for season 6. So I have a basic understanding as to what's happening, but I might need a recap from time to time
Alistair is stubborn, rash, and blunt. He uses little words, and rarely speaks if it is not necessary. This may make him seem hostile at first, but he is quite the opposite. He enjoys a good drink with friends, and usually becomes more open and charismatic the more he drinks (as expected). He holds honor as one of the most important traits in a person and tries to be as honorable as possible. He also tries to be as honest as possible, but will generally not share information that might put someone he cares about in danger. He has a strong dislike of the Ironborn way. He finds it unnecessarily brutal, savage, primitive, and sees no honor in pillaging defenseless villages. After growing close with Lyanna Mormont he has always enjoyed taking care of children, and almost sees himself as a father figure to her.
Alistair was the eldest son of Byron Blackweave, the Lord of Tiderock. At first he showed to be a young promising heir, until he began to enjoy other things besides raiding and pillaging. He enjoyed reading and sailing more than he actually enjoyed fighting. When he was forced to spar by his father he refused. This made Byron take drastic actions and punish his son every time he refused. This scarred young Alistair (A situation similar to the one seen between Samwell and Lord Tarly, but to a lesser degree) since early in his life, and their relationship was never able to fix itself. He grudgingly followed his father's rules more out of fear than anything else. But despite his Lord father's harsh treatment he always held his head high. When he was made to go on his first pillaging on the shores of Westeros he truly saw the horrors of the Ironborn life. That same night he took a boat and left on his own. The next acts he would take would be to simply infuriate his father. He stole two longships, by tricking part of his crew and sailed to Bear Island. He forced his men to drop their weapons into the sea lest he would behead them himself (he wasn't bluffing).
They grudgingly followed his orders. He forced the remaining sailors to either join the Mormonts, die, or go back to Tiderock. But his only rule was that he would keep one longship, and that longship would be a peace offering to the Mormont. Along with the longship his few remaining men were also a reward for they could not singlehandedly take all of Bear Island, thus they were forced to join the Mormonts or die trying to rebel. Alistair then left a short letter meant for Lord Byron to the Ironborn going back to Tiderock. It read "By now you must have heard what I have done and I do not regret it. You were never a true man, nor an honorable one. I have taken one of your longships as well as some of your Ironborn." Alistair knew he no longer wanted to be one of the Ironborn so he had decided to leave to a noble house. He chose the Mormonts because of several reasons, one to spite his father, the turmoil between the Ironborn and the North for Bear Island is not unheard of, and thus it was embarrassing that Lord Byron's own son would join the "enemy". Secondly it is known that the North holds honor as one of the highest virtues, something Alistair agrees with. Thirdly, location, Bear Island is near the Iron Isles, and is open to the sea allowing for Alistair to sail freely when he wishes to do so. Fourthly, there was already Northern blood in the Blackweave family, so it would not be so strange to join them. The next years he would slowly gain the trust of the Mormonts until he was considered as close friend, and build a lasting relationship with Lady Lyanna Mormont.
He prowled the deep sea. Currents and tides moved his body back and forth, with a swaying motion, like a caring mother swayed a baby in her arms. He clutched onto a rock and waited. He could feel his skin, crawling, changing, molding. Though he could see others, the others couldn't see him. He stayed there, still, waiting with unmoving eyes, ever so patiently. When the prey neared, his long, dark, arm extended and grappled on. He wrestled the beast. His other arms grabbed on just as tightly. He tore at flesh with his beak, and injected his venom deep inside the wound. The creature was able to thrash and bite onto one of his long, leathery, black arms. It tore it off, and he in recoil, pushed himself away spreading the black, smell dulling, liquid. He jetted away underneath a tight crevice and waited, looking at the creature from as distance. The creature was in pain as was he. But while the animal thought it was victorious, and had chased off its predator, it was sorely mistaken. Soon enough the venom had taken its toll, and the beast was paralyzed. He swam back to it and grappled on once more, devouring his prey while it was still alive. Though he himself was wounded, it was no problem, his limb would simply grow back in due time.
Alistair awoke in his bed on Bear Island. The taste of salt filled his mouth and his head hurt. It seemed to him that the dream had been stronger this time than most. He always dreamed of being a massive sea octopus, striking from the shadows. It was strange as the dreams felt more vivid than others. The creatures themselves slightly disgusted him, they seemed unnatural and strange. He prefered to see them cooked and served on a platter rather than down in the dark depths of the ocean. He got off from his bed, the stone floor, cold and smooth to the touch. He donned his thick clothing and headed off to see the day. It was a typical morning routine to head down to the beach and check the weather. Alistair was usually awake before the others, only the fishermen woke up at the same time, to catch the gentle tides of the morning. The day was grey and bleak. The weather was never quite pleasant here. But the mixture of the mountains on the island as well as the cold pine trees standing right above a cliff that lead to an ill, stormborn sea, was quite captivating and beautiful to the eye. Shells and pulverized rocks crunched below his boots. Today was as good a day as any to sail. So he got on his small vessel and set sail, going nowhere in particular.
(I was just told by Tanya that other characters besides the Starks can't be wargs so ignore that first paragraph. If you want me to change it just give the word )
