Firstly, the wanted ad I responded to was posted by Lyanna Mormont who, I checked, has been inactive for longer than your allotted time. If she is no longer a member of this community because of that then I will likely scrap this character in favor for somebody else.
Second, I've chosen Ewan Mcgregor because he does quite accurately portray my character (Florents being known for their large ears.) but he does not have many pictures which do not clearly show him in very modern settings, so any advice or suggestions would be welcome.
PERSONALITY
Alistair Flower may never have been a Florent in the eyes of his father but it always seemed he was more the fox than any of them. Alistair had developed very early on a very sharp and astute mind, frequently being punished for his tendency to talk back to his father. His childhood was filled largely with servitude and work which made an honest man out of him. If asked he would never lie, it was in his mind against his efforts to become the better of his father. Alistair's own efforts to better himself also led to him becoming a kind man, never wishing harm on others. His time working with the other servants of house Florent helped him to better appreciate money, as well as being charitable to those less fortunate, giving any money which he did not need to the poorest of Brightwater. Above all else, however; Alistair's infatuation with books and stories of great heroes and knights instilled a strong message of honour and duty, which he has never stopped priding himself in.
Alistair was born a bastard to Alekyne Florent the son and heir of Alester Florent and Brightwater Keep. From the moment of his birth Alistair was spurned by his father, seeing him as a wretch and blight on his life. This hatred was born of Alester Florent's disdain towards his son for "dishonouring the family name", and thus Alistair was punished.
Alistair spent the first 15 years of his life in service to his father and House Florent. Surprisingly Alistair refused to be broken by his father and instead took pride in his work and dedicated himself to becoming the better man. When working he was always polite to those he served and the servants alike, even being thanked a time or two by a grateful maidservant. When not working he was doing anything and everything he could. Alistair read histories and novels alike, apprenticed for the blacksmith, squired for knights, and occasionally even sparred with them. Eventually, however; all of this came to an end when soldiers of the crown arrived in Brightwater Keep. His father and his family were taken away in the backs of jail carts, for they had sided with Stannis Baratheon in the war of the five kings. This was his opportunity. This was Alistair's greatest chance to see the world, to become more than a bastard. After saying his farewells he made for the Roseroad.
Despite its delightful sound a 'Flower' would accomplish nothing in the land for which they are named, and so Alistair kept travelling. Tagging along with this wagon train or that farmer's son Alistair walked for weeks, working when he could. Alistair found himself eventually at the Crossroads Inn, here he offered to work for a room the innkeeper accepted. The next morning Alistair awoke to the frantic chatter of off inn goers as they discussed an upcoming battle. Alistair was understandably curious and asked the inn keeper what they meant, and he was told then of the approaching Northern and Lannister armies. Rather than concern the boy, however; he had become even more curious. Thanking the inn keeper Alistair left the crossroads in the direction of the approaching Northern army. Alistair met the marching Northerners, it was more men than he thought he had ever seen, he thought that surely with this many men they could not possibly lose. Once he had gotten closer he asked the nearest man on horseback "Can I help?" his boyish wonder replacing reason. The man responded, through a wave of laughter, with directions to Riverrun. At Riverrun he claimed was the main army, there they needed all the help they could get. So Alistair marched West, with purpose and excitement in his heart.
(Becomes incredibly tired of writing, haha)
At Riverrun Alistair puts his Squiring experience to work for a Lord of Bear Island. Alistair follows the Nrothern army as this Lord's squire for the entire campaign, until escaping the slaughter at the Twins without the Lord. Having nowhere left to go Alistair travels North where he hopes to serve House Mormont, feeling responsible for happened. After narrowly avoiding capture at Moat Cailin Alistair is in the North and soon enough finds himself on Bear Island. It is here that he pledges himself to House Mormont and befriends Lady Mormont.
Do original characters need to do this? I really hope not.
