Winds of Winter
With the winds of winter blowing across Westeros, soon nobody will be able to deny the ring of truth in the infamous Stark words. 'Winter is coming'. With it comes war and tides of change of the physical, mental and even mystical sorts. In the farthest corners of the North Bran is beginning to discover truths that will, and have, affected the past, present and future. The White Walkers, led by the Night's King, continue to prepare to unleash themselves upon all the humans south of The Wall; most of whom aren't even aware of their existence.
Unbeknownst to Bran, the Three Eyed Raven has been making preparations of his own. Foreseeing his own death, Bran's mentor has contacted a man touched by the magic of the children of the forest - Benjen Stark, and told him that he must protect Bran, lead him back South of the Wall and seek out the Lady with a heart of stone.
Valar Morghulis
Kill the boy and let the man be born. These are the words of the late Maester Aemon Targaryen. Now that Melisandre has brought Jon Snow back to life, they ring more true than ever. After hanging the traitorous brothers who murdered him, Jon decided to hand over the title, responsibilities and power of being the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch to Edd, although the other man has yet to officially accept the position. It remains to be seen just how much Jon Snow has changed, but even his brush with death has been unable to stomp out of the joy of his reunion with his half sister. Sansa Stark has traveled to the Wall to seek out Jon and his help in not only keeping the Boltons at bay - but also with reclaiming the North. Sansa, having seen horrors of her own, is adamant that The North Remembers and will rally to both her and Jon's side and return the North to what it once was. Realizing that they need all the support they can get, Sansa has sent Brienne to Riverrun with the hopes of gaining the aid of her uncle.
The Promise
The Onion Knight has a secret. Previously, he was sent by Stannis Baratheon to secure an alliance with House Manderly. Upon arriving, he was held captive, only to find out that while House Manderly holds the pretense of being loyal to the Lannisters, Freys and Boltons; it's all a deception. After staging a fake execution where a prisoner was killed and passed off to be Davos, Wyman explained that it had to be done so that the Lannisters believe House Manderly is loyal to the Crown and accepting of the new Warden of the North - thus ensuring the release of his son, Wylis Manderly, from where he was being held at Harrenhal. Davos was sent by Wyman Manderly to where they believe Rickon Stark was located, only for Davos to arrive too late as someone else had already whisked away the young Stark boy.
After explaining the failed attempt to gain access to Rickon Stark to Wyman, Davos learned that Wylis Manderly was returned safely, as promised by the Lannisters. However, having failed in his task, Davos then returned to Stannis Baratheon, and was sent to The Wall to instead ask the Night's Watch for more men.
Now Stannis is dead, Sansa and Jon are reunited and the question remains - does House Manderly indeed remember the promise made centuries ago? Will they answer the call and rally to the Starks' side?
The answer seems obvious whenever Wyman Manderly arranges for both his granddaughters - Wynafryd and Wylla to marry Frey men. Unaware that this is a ploy, the news of the weddings have caught the attention of multiple parties. News has reached The Wall, where Sansa, who has no knowledge of Davos' previous encounters with the Manderlys, has learned of this and has passed it off as just one more Northern House that she believes will not stand with them, thus provoking her to send a raven of her own to Lord Baelish, asking for the support of the Knights of the Vale. Elsewhere, the vengeance seeking Lady Stoneheart sets her sights upon the Manderlys, seeing them as nothing more than traitors as well.
What is Dead may never Die
In the Riverlands, olds faces are reappearing. Brynden 'Blackfish' Tully has regained control of Riverrun, much to the disdain of both House Frey and House Lannister. Meanwhile, after having been brought back from the dead by Beric Dondarrion, Catelyn Stark leads the Brotherhood Without Banners across the lands as she hunts for the blood of those who betrayed her family. Not all of the members of the Brotherhood are willing to follow her however, and Lem Lemoncloak along with a few others have left the Brotherhood and are pillaging, murdering and terrozing the Riverlands. After slaughtering a group of people, including a man known as Brother Ray, they have unknowingly gained a dangerous enemy. Recovered from his near death experience, Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane had been traveling with Brother Ray and now puts his last few months of peace behind him; returning to a violent world, he now seeks revenge.
The Vipers Nest
King's Landing remains in turmoil, much the way it has always been. Filled with deception, lies, manipulations and murderous schemes, the captial of Westeros and home of the current King is more dangerous than ever. Even to the highborns that think they rule it. With Margaery and Loras Tyrell still imprisoned by The Faith - King Tommen remains without his beloved Queen while continuing to fall further into the clutches of the High Sparrow. Be that as it may, the ever vindictive Cersei remains by his side as she recovers from her own experience with the Faith, and has even gained a Mountain sized body guard in the form of a reanimated Gregor Clegane. -The code is 'HODOR'- Amidst all this, Doran Martell has ordered the Sand Snakes to accompany Myrcella and Trystane to King's Landing in guise. Tyene Sand is to infiltrate the Faith in secret while Nymeria or Obara receive Oberyn's spot on the Small Council. After all, it is long past due that Dorne returns to the fold. Especially after the death of their beloved Prince Oberyn.
Kingsmoot
Balon Greyjoy is dead. And in light of this, a Kingsmoot was called for in the Iron Islands. Several ironborn put themselves forward as candidates, but it was Euron Greyjoy that won. Now King of the Iron Islands, he aims to build a thousand ships before sailing to Essos and offering an alliance with Daenerys Targaryen. However, his niece, thinking she should rightfully be Queen, has stolen their fleet along with a group of men and has left, intending to ally herself with the Mother of Dragons before Euron has the chance. While the new King of the Iron Islands commands the ironborn to build a thousand ships, he sends his brother, Victarion Greyjoy ahead with a marriage proposal for Daenerys in return for the ships that will help her win the Iron Throne. What Euron doesn't know is that Victarion plans betray him and wed Daenerys himself.
Fire and Blood
All across Westeros, Houses and individuals are rising up, preparing to fight various battles, stake claims and shed blood for what they believe in, and the same could be said for those across the Narrow Sea. In Essos, Arya struggles with her identity. Meanwhile, Daenerys has never been more sure of who she is. After having burned the collective Khals of the Dothraki alive and walking out from the flames unscathed, the Mother of Dragons has gained an immense following of Dothraki to support her claim. Unfortunately, Dany's absence in Meereen has been noted, and while Tyrion, Varys and others are stepping up to fill her shoes whilst she's gone - things are tense between the former slaves and the Sons of the Harpy.
